On the hunt for the best pumpkin patches in Southern California?

You’re in the right place—and I should know. I live in SoCal and treat pumpkin season like a competitive sport.

When fall hits, it’s not just about picking the perfect pumpkin. It’s about finding the best hayrides, corn mazes, Instagram-worthy scarecrows, and kettle corn that’s probably not gluten-free (but totally worth it).

Here in Los Angeles and beyond, Halloween is a full-blown lifestyle. And no, it’s not just for the kids—if anything, the adults are way more committed. Costume planning starts in August, and don’t be surprised if someone asks what aesthetic your jack-o’-lantern is going for.

So grab your flannel, prep your carving kit, and let’s explore the five best pumpkin patches in Southern California.

A few years back, this former West Hollywood gem bid farewell to its old location and resettled in Culver City.

Mr. Bones was my neighborhood pumpkin patch until it moved out of WeHo to Culver City; I’ve visited countless times.

The beloved destination stands out amidst the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape like a scarecrow in a field of squash.

It’s akin to a rural haven in the heart of the fast-paced city (it’s a joy to visit; you forget the city is surrounding you as kids squeal with glee), boasting neat rows of pumpkins, a colossal hand-carved rocking horse, a charming petting zoo, and a petite straw maze.

This charming slice of autumnal delight also offers intricate face painting, an exhilarating super slide, pumpkin decorating, a bouncing spider, and an array of delectable food trucks.

Ticket prices range from $10 to $30, depending on the chosen date (hint: weekdays come at a lower cost), and activities kick off at just $1 each.

Hours: Oct 5–29: Daily 9 am–9 pm. (Activities close at 8:30 p.m.) Humans only, no pets.
