While you can technically complete the drive from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon in a single day, it would mean an extremely early start and a lengthy day on the road. It’s a 478-mile drive to the Grand Canyon from Los Angeles, which will take at least 10 hours to complete.
However, I advise against this approach.
Such a rushed journey would be tiring and mean you’d bypass many incredible attractions en route to the Grand Canyon and spend time in the canyon.

Can you do a day trip to Yosemite from Los Angeles?
Sure. Depending on your route, the distance between Yosemite and Los Angeles is 280 miles, and it will take you about four and a half to five hours to make the trip.
If you start your road trip to Yosemite National Park from Los Angeles early in the morning, say 5:00 am, you could be there by 10 or 11 am, spend a few hours in the park, and then head back before the sun sets.
