With so many things to do in Los Angeles, from the amazing beaches to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, incredible eats, and great shopping, it’s hard to narrow the list to only 9, but we’ve done it for you.
So let’s get to it!
Here are the 9 once in a lifetime things to do in Los Angeles that visitors should experience when they stop in the most diverse city in the country.

1. Hike to the Hollywood Sign
One of the most iconic landmarks in Los Angeles is the Hollywood Sign. If you want to get up close and personal with this famous sign, you can take a hike up to the Hollywood Hills.
The hike is about 3 miles round trip and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the city and the sign.
Where to start: The closest place to park is at 3000 Canyon Lake Drive, Hollywood. There’s free street parking available outside Lake Hollywood Park and is readily available in the neighborhood near the trailhead.
Take the Hollywood Sign via Innsdale Trail and Mount Lee Drive to the top. This is the only trail that leads to the back of the Hollywood Sign. Another option is to head to the Griffith Observatory, where you can get great views of the front of the sign and all of Los Angeles.
It’s a pretty easy trail to hike, but in the summer, start early to avoid the intense California sun.
💡Bring a hat, sunglasses, water, and sunblock to protect you from the sun. Remember to wear comfy hiking shoes, or sneakers will do!

2. Take the Warner Bros. Tour and go on a TV set
If you’re a movie buff, you won’t want to miss the chance to go behind the scenes on The Warner Bros Studio Tour.
The studio offers a variety of tours that take you through the sets and soundstages where some of your favorite movies and TV shows were filmed.
You’ll see props and costumes from iconic films like Harry Potter and Batman, and even take a tour of the studio’s working backlot.
I’ve taken this tour with friends and relatives. As someone who has seen Friends more than a few times, it was fun sitting on the Central Perk couch.

Perched high above Los Angeles, the Griffith Observatory offers a front-row seat to the cosmos and an unbeatable panoramic view of the city’s glittering skyline. It is my favorite place to hike to in Los Angeles, and there are several different trails to hike to the observatory, all beautiful.
An easy hike to the Griffith Observatory is one I used to go on every day when I lived near the park, it starts at Los Feliz Blvd., and Fern Dell in Los Feliz.

I love the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens so much that I buy the annual membership. There are so many beaches in and around Los Angeles. It’s hard to narrow them down. But for the true LA experience, these below are the ones to see.
The Santa Monica Pier is an iconic landmark that offers fun for the whole family. The pier has an amusement park called Pacific Park, which has a Ferris wheel, roller coaster, and other thrilling rides.

I’ve run the LA Marathon twice, and in my opinion, it’s the best way to experience Los Angeles. What could be better than the city’s busiest streets shut down to cars, giving runners a rare chance to see this sprawling metropolis up close and personal?
The course starts at Dodger Stadium and winds its way through iconic neighborhoods like Chinatown, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Westwood before finishing near the Santa Monica Pier.
