Catalina Island is bike friendly, so this is a great way to see the island. There are several bike rentals:

Catalina is so small it’s possible to cover a lot of ground on foot. The Island is only 76 square miles and the main town, Avalon, is totally walkable.

🚖 Taxi

Ride shares are not allowed on the island, but taxis are. Taxis are located as you exit the ferry terminal and the taxi stand (where Metropole Avenue meets Crescent Avenue).

🚍 Public Transportation

The bus is also available on Catalina Island. Two choices are:

Conversely, if you prefer to avoid large crowds, fall and winter will suit your needs best.

SPRING WEATHER

In March, the average high temperature is around 64°F (18°C), while in April and May, it increases to around 67°F (19°C) and 70°F (21°C) respectively. 

The average low temperatures during these months range from 51°F (11°C) in March to 55°F (13°C) in May.

In June, the average high temperature is around 74°F (23°C), and it gradually increases throughout the summer.

The water temperature around Catalina Island during summer is typically quite comfortable for swimming and water activities. It ranges from 66°F (19°C) in June to 70°F (21°C) in August. Still, pretty cold for me!
